BGIET ORGANIZED NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS DRIVE
Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology Sangrur NSS Camp Unit Organized National Awareness Drive. In this Campaign Bhai Gurdas Group of Institution Executive member Dr. Guninderjit Singh Jawandha (Minku) planted saplings in Gharchon Public Park. In this campaign Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutiton Executive Dean Dr. Suvreet Kaur Jawandha, Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology Director Dr. Tanuja Srivastava and other staff member along with 125 students were present. Bhai Gurdas Group of Institution has taken initiative to make Gharchon Public Park full with tress. The purpose of this initiative is to make the Environment healthier and greener so that we can avoid earthquakes and floods. Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions Chairman S. Hakam Singh Jawandha said that the campaign is for the betterment of the society and aware the people to grow more and more trees for healthy surrounding. In this campaign BGIET planted 150 beautiful and medicinal saplings in Gharchon Public Park.
Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions Executive member Dr. Guninderjit Singh Jawandha (Minku) and Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology Director Dr. Tanuja Srivastava said that it is commendable to say that the Institute has just set a benchmark in nurturing the students by providing technical education but has also taken enormous steps towards social services. With an impetus to carry forward its services for the betterment of the society this initiative will help to keep the environment clean and maintain the life-support systems of our planet. More trees in the environment will work to avoid the natural calamities like global warming, floods, tornado etc. More so, in the campaign the information about the use of Nonconventional Sources of energy were given. BGIET has made remarkable holy-duty by distributing many medicinal plants and shadow plants as these saplings planted in the soil speaks of the new beginning which would later be conducive in restoring our lives from natural disaster.
