BGIET STUDENTS BAGGED WINNER TROPHY IN MRSSTU DAY INTER COLLEGE CHESS TOURNAMENT

The students of Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology added yet another feather by nurturing the students by providing technical education but with enormous steps towards other achievements. The students of BGIET shine in studies as well as sports. Cultural events, development program, inter college programmers play a vital role in the college. Bhai Gurdas group of institutions organized Inter-college Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical University, Bathinda Chess Tournament-2016 a Two-Day Tournament in its campus. In this tournament the BGIET boy’s team stood first position. In this inter college tournament various colleges from Punjab participated. The final results were announced and are as follows: among Girls’ the winner trophy was won by the team of MIMIT, Malout. Gyani Jail Singh Engg. College (girls) Bathinda and Baba farid engineering college (boys) got second position. RIMT Engineering College (boys) and Baba Farid Engineering College (girls) got 3rd position. S. Hakam Singh Jawandha, Chairman, Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions informed that the team from the institute has remarkably shown their skills. He said that the winning teams has marked its name in Punjab and even outshined the name of their college. S. Hakam Singh Jawandha, Chairman, congratulated the winners and assured that this trend will continue which has given a platform to the participants to showcase their talents and skills even in the future also. Such opportunities encourage students and bring out hidden talents in the students.
Executive member Dr. Guninderjit Singh Jawandha (Minku) and Dr. Tanuja Srivastava, Director Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology felicitated the winners and said that such events civilize the young minds and motivate young generation to play games as they are very important now a days. It gives an edge to their personalities as the mental state of the students is emphasized with it. The institute always focuses on sports and other activities.
