As the Head of the Department of Food Technology, I take this opportunity to welcome you to a dynamic department of Industrial transformation, value addition and human development. Food Technology is a comprehensive program with an objective to offer in-depth study of various areas related to food science, engineering principles, and practical skills necessary for success in the field. With a curriculum that blends theory with hands-on experience, our students are well-prepared to tackle the challenges and opportunities of the modern food industry. In addition to classroom learning, our department offers a range of experiential learning opportunities, including industry internships, research projects, and industrial visits. These experiences allow students to gain valuable insights into industry practices, build professional networks, and apply their knowledge in real-world settings. The program enables the students to undergo and possess entrepreneurial and Industry knowledge which includes latest technology used in the food processing industry.
To get sound and practical hands-on experience of various food processing related technologies, the students are sent every year to In-plant Training and internship program in various food industries. The main objective of the department is to provide in-depth knowledge of subjects and to develop student’s intellectual capacity to improve cognitive and transferable skills which provide better knowledge and skill in the field of food technology empowering our students to become future leaders and innovators in the field of food technology.
